Riders Group Limited are rolling out a new service where food delivery riders in the UK can rent an electric moped and insurance needed to complete food deliveries. The ability to hire the vehicle weekly and to own the vehicle after 12 months is designed to match the flexibility that riders enjoy in determining their own working hours when working with Riders Group Limited.
Riders Group Limited believes that supporting the use of electric vehicles for food delivery will help with wider take-up of the vehicles and help not only major cities but small towns on its mission to reduce air pollution.
Riders Group has invested in the scheme as part of its efforts to get riders to switch to eco-friendly alternatives to traditional moped. Riders will be able to rent the scooters for £2.62 per hour which includes food delivery insurance, based on 8 hours per day 5 days per week, the main advantage of this scheme is that the hirer can work around their day-to-day life and for whom they wish. Meaning they can really explore the local small companies as well as the mainstream delivery app companies.
The zero emission mopeds are supplied by Yadea, they have a 55-75 mile range meaning riders won't have to recharge during rental periods and have a top speed of 55mph, balancing performance with safety for city riding. If the Rider is needing more range, then the vehicle benefits from a quick charge battery which plugs into any normal household socket, or Riders can supply a spare battery unit which could increase the range per day if needed, Riders branded waterproof and windproof leg cover for comfort and wellbeing - whatever the weather - are included, with a large capacity hard shell food box with advertising panels for excellent branding visibility at all hours.
With fuel prices ever on the increase and the uncertainty on fuel supply the future is green, running costs with a cost to charge @0.16p per KW per Hour Charging with a 5 Hour charge making it £3.20 to charge.
The future of deliveries is here, and this market is only going to get bigger, with the local areas getting more congested delivering by scooter and being able to achieve more deliveries in a working day due to the ability to combat traffic and congestion. One thing people are forgetting, and which Riders truly believe is the answer to gaining more value from your day is the ability to offer deliveries to companies in town centres and which other vehicles cannot gain access to, so delivering by scooter opens to all businesses.
